Traditional Wood Stain

Hannant’s Traditional Positive Water Based Wood Stains are a combination of non-hazardous superior dyes, pigments and refined additives. Ingredient composition of these stains gives an excellent finish designed for use on deciduous and coniferous wood. Available in a wide range of colours, our wood stains give tone, texture and warmth to wood.

These stains enhance the wood grain with a ‘positive’ stain effect keeping the stripes of the wood grain the same, producing a more natural and authentic effect. Other commercial wood stains are more easily absorbed into the soft grain area that lies between the darker stripes of the natural wood grain giving a negative effect shown below.

• Can be applied by hand, paint brush, cloth or sponge, or with spraying equipment.
• Available in ready to use form or as a cost saving concentrate.

The timber you apply the product to will greatly influence the eventual colour tone and finish.
